The Labor Day tournament provided a venue for some quality attacking soccer. The 01B Red continued their early season good form, with four consecutive victories and a first place finish. The team played a Barcelona-esque positional attacking game and outscored their opponents 32 to 4. The final provided quite the thrill.... the team came from behind twice against a very good Sacramento Attack Red and won the tournament on a "golden goal" 20 yard strike from Ardem in double overtime. Congratulations to the entire academy: players, parents and coaches!

Red Star Soccer is extremely excited to announce a partnership with iSoccer in order to help continue the technical development process for players within our academy. iSoccer is an innovative program with the single mission to increase the technical standards of youth players across America.

In order for players to reach their full potential they must practice and master skills on their own. This award-winning program will challenge, motivate and improve technical standards at all levels, and in all age groups. The online video platform offers downloads to 500+ iPod training activities and will allow players, parents, and coaches help track, assess, and guide individual technical development.

This is one more way that we are committed to our student athletes and is included free of charge.

Please watch the videos below for a description of the iSoccer philosophy and methodology.

What a fantastic week for our Red Star players and families! First the Quakes hosted a lively skills clinic and autograph session. Current players Jon Busch, Brandon McDonald, Brad Ring, Justin Morrow, Matt Luzunaris and assistant coach Ian Russell ran skills activities and were very impressed with the technical level of our players.

This past Saturday over 400 Red Star members attended the Quakes first home win of the season against the Columbus Crew. The players were priviledged to get on the field for some pre-game activities and had a blast. Quite a few families were attending for the first time and will definitely be returning to support our local professional team. It was great to see the academy enjoy a night together, as we continue to develop the next generation of soccer enthusiasts. As our motto says, "Soccer for Life"!
